A pair of owls were found to be nesting in our house in Anaheim Hills in January of 2010. The owls managed to enter through a faulty screening vent in the attic. The attic is used for storage of seldom accessed items so the owls were rarely disturbed. The lights in the attic were almost never turned on. These images are visible only because the webcam has a built in infrared light that turns on in dim light. In daylight the images would be in full color. But when using infrared lighting in darkness, the captured images are in black and white. To the human eye the owl nest is either in very dim light during the day or total darkness at night. From January through about June of 2010 an image was captured every 6 seconds around the clock. At that time the public was able to visit the web site to view the owls in real time. Highlights would be posted every few days so that everyone could view some of the images that they missed. Below are just some of those highlights. CLICK HERE to view a slideshow of more highlights.
